Marcin Masecki, one of Poland&#8217;s most original pianists, together with a nine-piece big band, uses blues as a living form of storytelling \u2013 not so much its style as its emotional language of communication. The concert will be a musical journey through American work songs, reinterpreted through Slavic sensibility and Masecki&#8217;s original language. Blues in this edition is an essay on work, untold stories and human solidarity. The artist is inspired by both archival recordings and personal experiences.       <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By whom?<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>Marcin Masecki<\/strong> \u2013 pianist, composer, and improviser. Known for his original reinterpretations of classical, jazz, and folk music. An artist with a unique style that combines experimentation with deep respect for musical traditions.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Big band<\/strong> \u2013 a nine-piece ensemble featuring saxophones, trumpets, trombones, bass, and drums. Together, they create a raw and emotional sound that combines blues rhythms with improvisation and a contemporary musical idiom. <\/p>\n\n<p>The band will perform with the following line-up:<br\/>Marcin Masecki \u2013 piano, arrangement, composition<br\/>Ignacy Wendt, Brunon Wojnarski \u2013 trumpets<br\/>Marcin Konieczkowicz, Mi\u0142osz Pieczonka \u2013 saxophones<br\/>Micha\u0142 Daszkiewicz, Maciej Prokopowicz \u2013 trombones<br\/>Jerzy Rogiewicz \u2013 percussion<br\/>Micha\u0142 Aftyka \u2013 bass<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">FOR WHOM<\/h2>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>for lovers of live music, blues, and jazz\u2014for those who appreciate creative reinterpretations of tradition and seek events that explore important social and historical themes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>for everyone looking to start the festival on a unique, reflective note.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>for adults and teens, with no age restrictions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Why is it worth it?<\/h2>\n\n<p>This is more than just an opening concert \u2013 it&#8217;s the ideological manifesto of this year\u2019s \u0141\u00f3d\u017a of Many Cultures Festival, dedicated to the culture of work. \u201cPie\u015bni pracy\u201d is a musical tribute to those whose daily labor laid the foundations of our reality. Marcin Masecki creates a space for listening and remembering, for reflection and community.  <\/p>\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Availability:<\/h3>\n\n<p>The Concert Hall building of the Academy of Music is fully accessible for people with limited mobility, offering step-free access to all floors via high-speed elevators. The auditorium includes specially designed seating areas for wheelchair users.
