Artistic performance by the Slavs &amp; Tatars collective"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What is it about?<\/h2>\n\n<p>Fuel &amp; Feathers is a series of performative events at the intersection of art, mythology and social criticism. The project, prepared by the Slavs and Tatars collective and curator Micha\u0142 Grzegorzek, explores the potential of fire \u2013 not as a tool of destruction, but as a creative, queer and transformative force. For several days in October, the Biedermann Factory will host an installation by Slavs and Tatars, styled as a petrol station, where instead of an eagle in the logo, Simurg burns \u2013 a mythical, fiery bird known from the traditions of Central Asia and the Middle East, personifying the power of multiplicity, fluid identity and imagination. In this space, artists from around the world will attempt to express themselves beyond imposed identities. The event programme includes evenings of performances, concerts, dance shows and communal ceremonies, all connected by fire \u2013 a symbol of transformation, ecstasy and rebirth.     <\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">By whom?<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>Slavs and Tatars<\/strong> &#8211; an art collective that explores the cultures of Eurasia through exhibitions, performances, lectures and publications. Their projects are full of humor, erudition and defiance towards dominant narratives. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>Micha\u0142 Grzegorzek<\/strong> \u2013 curator of exhibitions and author of texts on contemporary art. He is interested in practices at the intersection of visual and performing arts and experimental exhibition formats.  <\/p>\n\n<p>The event will also feature invited performers, musicians, designers, and artists, including <strong>Jacqueline Sobiszewski<\/strong>, creator of moving light landscapes known from theatrical productions, and <strong>Astrit Ismaili<\/strong>, an artist who combines movement, voice, and instruments worn on the body. <br\/><strong>Slikback<\/strong> \u2014 a master of club sounds rooted in African tradition, <br\/><strong>Selin Davasse<\/strong> \u2014 creator of iconic performances, <br\/><strong>Kamil Weso\u0142owski<\/strong> \u2014 an artist associated with \u0141\u00f3d\u017a, working at the intersection of visual arts, performing arts, and fashion, <br\/><strong>Alesia Maisei<\/strong> and <strong>Katarzyna Salinger<\/strong> \u2014 performers and pole dancers, <br\/><strong>Kim Khan<\/strong> \u2014 sound artist and multi-instrumentalist,<br\/><strong>Lubomir Grzelak<\/strong> \u2013 composer, sound artist, and music producer, also performing as Lutto Lento<br\/><strong>Agnieszka Brze\u017ca\u0144ska<\/strong> \u2013 an artist whose work encompasses painting, drawing, photography, film, ceramics, and other media,<br\/><strong>Taras Gembik<\/strong> \u2013 cultural worker, poet, and activist,<br\/><strong>Djibril Sall<\/strong> \u2013 a queer artist from Senegal, writes and creates choreographies,<br\/><strong>S\u0142awomir Belina<\/strong> (1968-2019) \u2013 photographer, creator of installations and performances, he also worked in sculpture, painting, and poetry.<\/p>\n\n<p>Set design: <strong>Publish Art<\/strong>, <strong>Magdalena Komborska-\u0141\u0105czna<\/strong> &amp; <strong>Natalia Ho\u0142ub<\/strong><\/p>\n\n<p>We invite you to have a look at the <strong>\n  <a href=\"https:\/\/lodzwielukultur.pl\/en\/curatorial-text\/\">curatorial essay<\/a>\n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Program<\/h2>\n\n<p><strong>October 4 (Saturday)<\/strong> 20:30-23:00 | Jacqueline Sobiszewski and Lubomir Grzelak, Astrit Ismaili, Slikback<\/p>\n\n<p>The opening night will feature a series of performances combining Jacqueline Sobiszewski&#8217;s ephemeral performance of light, shadow and smoke with a performance by Kosovo-born artist Astrit Ismaili, who challenges and transforms identity politics, and an energetic bass live act by Slickback, who combines African sound traditions with club futurism. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>ATTENTION! <\/strong>The event may contain flashing lights, strobe lights, and smoke. The event will be partly in English and Ukrainian.   <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>October 10 (Friday)<\/strong> 20:30-23:00 | Kamil Weso\u0142owski and friends, Selin Davasse<\/p>\n\n<p>A surreal night of embodied stories \u2014 <em>She-Pigeon<\/em> by Selin Davasse is a physical metamorphosis of language and identity, while<em> <\/em>Kamil Weso\u0142owski\u2019s artistic nail salon is a space where nails become a weapon, a spell, and a manifesto \u2014 at the intersection of folk tradition and fashion \u201cslay.\u201d<\/p>\n\n<p><strong>ATTENTION! <\/strong>The event will be partly in English. <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>11 pa\u017adziernika (sobota)<\/strong> 20:30-23:00 | Kim Khan, Katarzyna Salinger and Alesia Meisei<\/p>\n\n<p>An evening of pole dance, where Alesia Maisei and Catherine Salinger invite you to an experience in which physical exertion and intimacy become a form of expression of emotion and inner tenderness. Kim Khan&#8217;s concert is a seamless blend of cultural heritage and sonic transcendence.  <\/p>\n\n<p><strong>ATTENTION! <\/strong>The event may contain nudity and smoke. For those who want to immerse themselves in ritual, sound, and performance, while also experiencing community in a space free from rigid categories of gender, origin, or identity. Because instead of sticking on more labels, it allows them to be burned \u2014 and something new to be built from the ashes.
